In Photoshop there are tools that "Transform" and image meaning you can squish it in ways to force everything into the box you want.
LIGHTROOM 6.2 VERY SLOW PERFORMANCE UPDATE
LR has been fairly sluggish (to my dismay), but I remain hopefully that its an update away from better performance (truly hope). The weatherproof construction of this digital camera protects it against adverse weather, dust and moisture. The Fujifilm FinePix XP140 is waterproof to a 25 meter depth for a maximum of 120 minutes. The Fujifilm FinePix XP140 features a Contrast-Detect AF system.

LIGHTROOM 6.2 VERY SLOW PERFORMANCE 64 BIT
Lightroom operates in 64-bit mode automatically if it is installed on a computer that is 64 bit capable and running a 64-bit OS. I have the new 5k with an i7, 16GB, 395 card and a 1TB SSD and have been using Lightroom CC and PS since I got the thing. Given that is does not support very slow shutter-speeds, this camera is unsuitable for night photography. Giving Lightroom access to more than 4 GB of RAM can significantly improve performance.

At Export in Lightroom Classic you can make resize to different settings will keeping the aspect ration you set with the crop tool. If you run Lightroom in 64-bit mode, it has access to more than 2 GB of RAM, which is the ceiling for 32-bit operating systems. Resizing is different and refers to pixels or file size. Lightroom 3.6 was a bit better in that regard, but the real performance improvement for importing images into a catalog was introduced in Lightroom 4, which cut the import time in half when compared to LR 2. The only thing you can do is use the crop tool and, for computer screens, select the 16:9 aspect ratio and lock it. Lightroom 2.7 was quite slow when adding images to a catalog, averaging around 35 seconds when importing 823 images. If you are using a DSLR the aspect ratio is 3:2. In the time I was typing three of the best already had answers up! I should delete everything except the reference to the J Kost video at the bottom! )Ĭameras shoot with one aspect ratio and screens display another. That new experience, unfortunately, also introduced instability into Lightroom and removed some import functions users reported issues with the software crashing and running poorly.

The latest version of the software was released last Monday, and brought with it a redesigned import experience. (Update on edit: I must be too slow at typing. Adobe has issued an apology over the 'significant crashing bug' introduced in Lightroom 6.2.
